Spotswood PBA Welcomes Newest Officer Trent Powers

On Monday March 20th, 2017, the Spotswood Police Department was honored to swear in their newest Officer, Trent Powers. Trent battles with a rare, incurable disease, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Spotswood Police Department and Helmetta Police Department, members of the PBA Local 225, along with help from Eb Pba and South River Police Department were able to raise a total of $3,000 towards the fund raiser Powers Promise.

Patrolman Trent Powers, Badge #50, was given an authentic Spotswood Police uniform so he can ride in his big wheels Police Tahoe (fully equipped with lights and sirens) so he can fight crime! We would like to welcome Spotswood’s newest Officer, Patrolman Trent Powers. Congrats big guy!

Snow Bowl To Benefit The Special Olympics

On March 3rd 2017, members of P.B.A. Local #225 compiled of officers from the Spotswood and Helmetta Police Departments participated in the 2017 New York Giants Snow Bowl at Met Life Stadium to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey. This is a yearly event Local # 225 participates in with several other police and fire organizations. This year alone, the event raised $580,000 and since its inception ten years ago, The Snow Bowl has raised more than $2.4 million for Special Olympics New Jersey! The success of this event directly helps more than 25,000 athletes train and compete free-of-charge, year-round, in 24 Olympic-type sports.
